Kind and Caring Services from Sava Therapies

Your sanctuary for peace, joy, and balance

Help me find peace, joy and balance

Yoga for Every Body

Discover the joy and freedom you’ll experience with personalised yoga instruction. Your classes will become a cherished, protected time where you can breathe deeply and find balance in your day.

Starting January 2024 we are offering a spinal care class every Saturday, hosted at Yoga Peace Australia, North Parramatta. This 1 hour class focuses exclusively on neck, shoulders and spine. Designed in collaboration with a senior exercise physiologist, this class combines yoga, mobility exercises, and fascia release to bring ease and relief back into your body.

Experience the transformative power of yoga through our three distinct styles: Yin, Restorative, and Gentle. Each style focuses on different aspects of your well-being, offering slow and meditative movements, calming and rejuvenating poses, or smooth and graceful flows.

Our private and small-group classes are designed to suit both inexperienced yogis and experienced practitioners seeking more personalised attention. With us, you'll discover alignment cues, prop demonstrations, and a distraction-free environment that empowers you to practice confidently.

Our classes are affordable, accessible, and comfortable. Join us from the comfort of your own home, without worrying about your appearance or schedule. Or, join us at our local yoga studio, Yoga Peace Australia for in-person assistance and community.

Both options will help you sleep better, give you critical self-care resources, and guide you through meditations to help you relax and connect with your body. Our yoga classes will also support your other physical activities by increasing your mobility, flexibility, and body awareness. You'll get to experiment with new poses and work with different levels of the human experience beyond the physical.

$120 per private class (only $24 per person for you + 4 friends!)

$25 per drop-in class or $220 for a 10 class pass at Yoga Peace Australia

Somatic Psychotherapy: Embrace Mind-Body Integration

Discover a holistic approach to well-being with Sava Therapies’ somatic psychotherapy, incorporating touch, yogic practices, and talk therapy to help you feel unified and integrated between thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.

We use a somatic psychotherapy technique, taking a compassionate, mindful, curious, non-invasive, humorous, and respectful approach to self-understanding. Depending on your specific needs, we may focus our approach with an emphasis on talk therapy or (non-sexual) touch-based therapy, making our somatic psychotherapy services suitable for a range of therapeutic situations and personal growth processes.

Learn more about somatic psychotherapy services

Somatic psychotherapy at Sava Therapies focuses on the interactions between the body and the mind, going beyond traditional talk therapy. By paying attention to bodily patterns, we help you recognise emotions, sensations, triggers, and limitations. Our approach incorporates consensual, undemanding, non-sexual, gentle, and attentive touch, along with yogic practices such as breathing techniques, flowing movement, meditation, and visualisations into talk therapy. This unique method allows us to explore non-verbal material, including somatisation of unconscious or repressed feelings, trauma, and incomplete cycles of reaction.

Working with our gentle, trauma-informed therapist, you'll develop greater body intuition, acceptance, and love for your body. Our sessions can help decrease anxiety, insomnia, depression, pain, and disassociation, while increasing circulation and energy flow. Together, we'll create time and space for you to digest your experiences, nurture new insights, and recognise and change limiting patterns in posture and movement.

Our somatic psychotherapy service is provided by Anita, who has attained qualifications in yoga, psychotherapy, counselling, and massage.

Up to $200 per session with a sliding scale available.

Learn more about our combined yoga and massage sessions

Embark on a unique infusion of Yin yoga and Thai massage, in a personalised journey designed just for you. Each Radiant YinThai Flow session involves more than just yoga poses; it’s a detailed exploration of self, focused on your needs in the moment. Here’s what awaits you:

  • A meditative journey: With minimal verbal cues, we lean into physical cues to guide you through self-inquiry and immersive meditation. As one client said, “it brought my mind and body into the present — calming and soothing”.
  • Total relaxation: Feel your nervous system down-regulate with our hands-on adjustments, leaving you in a state of blissful relaxation, just like one of our clients who said. "I always feel relaxed after Yin yoga but that feeling was intensified today. I arrived with tight shoulders, hips, and back, and left with all three feeling much freer.".
  • Body-mind connection: Really feel the depth of each pose and adjustment, heightening your proprioception, flexibility, and range of motion. We give you the time to experiment and observe how the poses and adjustments feel to you.
  • Holistic wellbeing: Enhance your circulation, chi flow, and immune system by releasing tension from your fascia — the connective tissues that often hold tension and stress. Feel supported and connected with your body through our tailored massage techniques.
  • A bliss cocoon: Enjoy a soothing, warm wrap at the end of each session for that extra sense of grounding.

Choose your preferred sanctuary, be it a local yoga studio or your own home (if you live within 30 mins of Parramatta).

$120 per hour (plus $40 travel fee if you'd like us to come to you)

Sava Therapies FAQs

Can I participate in a yoga class if I have an injury?

Yes. All our classes are slow and gentle so are suitable if you have an injury. We personalise our classes to your needs and will teach various expressions of each pose (asana) we include in our classes. Make sure you let us know how your injury impacts on your movement when you book your class or at the beginning of the class, and we’ll keep that in mind when teaching.

If your injury prevents you from standing or balancing on one leg (e.g. you’ve got a broken leg), you might prefer a Yin Yoga class as many of the poses are done sitting or lying down. However, we can design Restorative and Gentle Yoga classes such that you can participate sitting and lying down.

Can I participate in a yoga class if I have a disability?

Yes. All our classes are gentle and slow and include several expressions of every asana, which means they’re suitable for people of all ages, skills and abilities no matter what physical or mental disabilities might be present. In fact, we can tailor your classes to specifically cater for your disability if you’re comfortable telling us what your disability is and how it affects you. And we can do so in a way that won’t draw attention to you during class.

Can I participate in a yoga class if I’m affected by chronic pain, a chronic illness or a long-term medical condition?

Yes. Our yoga classes are all gentle, slow and safe and we can design classes around your needs if you’re comfortable sharing them. And we’ll do so in a way that won’t draw attention to you during class.

I don’t feel comfortable going into an office. Are all your sessions in person?

No worries. Sava Therapies offers in-person and online sessions. In every session, our therapist will create a safe haven that constantly adapts to your specific needs. Throughout your time with us, you’ll learn how to bring your mind and body into harmony no matter whether you choose and in-person or online option. Our therapist will help awaken positive connections and build new patterns.

Are all your sessions one-on-one? Or can I book a session with my friends?

Depending on the service you’re interested in, you may book in for a private, solo session, a private group session, or an existing group session. For example, you can enjoy our yoga services with up to 4 friends. Or, if you’d like to join a small group class, please contact us and we’ll help you connect with a group.

Do you run workplace wellness programs?

Yes! We also offer services for corporate delivery. For example, we provide workplace assistance programs, customised educational workshops, and critical incident debriefing. We can provide these services at the individual, team, and managerial levels.

Can I get a refund from my private health insurer?

Sava Therapies does not currently have any arrangements with private health insurance providers.

Will yoga hurt my knees or other joints?

Not if you practice mindfully and with a qualified, experienced instructor like those here at Sava Therapies. Our yoga classes are all gentle, slow and build joint strength and flexibility so may alleviate any joint pain and do not damage joints.

I like exercise that gets my heart pounding. Can I enjoy yoga?

It’s true that the yoga we teach is slower, more gentle and doesn’t get your heart rate up. And that’s why you especially will benefit from our classes.

They allow you to rejuvenate between high-intensity workouts. They build your strength and flexibility so you can perform better and get more out of your other activities. And they help you better understand the connection between your mind and body so you can challenge yourself and reach new heights without over-extending and injuring yourself.

In fact, modern life is increasingly stripping us of the ability to be still, without interruptions or distractions. The time you spend practicing yoga- without the tv on or a podcast or loud music playing in the background, will remove the distractions which many of us use to escape being still — or being alone. You may just find that learning to become more in tune with yourself and comfortable with stillness and quiet is the ultimate challenge for you as an active, high-energy athlete.

Where are you located?

We hold in-person sessions at Wellshare Penrith and in the Sydney CBD (inside the Dymocks building). Or you can attend a clinic session. Our contact page lists all our locations and provides maps to help you find your way.

I need an in-person session but I can't get to any of your locations. Can you visit my home?

We also offer in-home visits for those who live within 30 minutes of Parramatta. (In-home visits attract an extra fee.)

I care for someone on the NDIS. Can we access your services?

All our services are personalised for each attendee. Importantly, this means our services are perfect for NDIS participants and their carers. Please call us to find out more about how we can tailor our services to your unique needs.

Can I get a discount if I have a Mental Health Care Plan?

Sava Therapies does not currently accept Mental Health Care Plans.

Our services are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment.

Not your average yoga class

Other yoga studios cram their students in like sardines, and their classes are more like a gym class, sweat and all, or make you feel like you’ve stepped in a time machine and travelled to ancient India.

We’re different.

Whether they’re delivered online or in Parramatta, all our yoga classes:

  • Are completely personalised to suit your needs so you get the maximum benefit

  • Are run with small group sizes (or one-on-one) so you get more individual attention

  • Deliver a calm, supportive environment that reduces overwhelm

  • Follow an approach that integrates traditional yogic wisdom with the results of modern scientific research so you can be confident the tried and tested tools and techniques you learn actually work

  • Are run in a convenient location so attending isn’t a hassle

  • Are free from sermons, preaching and other spiritual components so you can be comfortable participating no matter what your beliefs are
